Management Team

From experienced accountants to compliance experts, each member of EVDI’s management team brings a wealth of experience to our organization – and a deep commitment to EVDI’s patients. In fact, most of our team has been with the company for more than a decade, and some as long as 20 years or more.

Get to know the team behind EVDI now:

Dean W. Marks
Administrator
Dean began working at EVDI in 1989. His area of responsibility is practice management. He received a B.A. in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and is a Certified Public Accountant. 

Dawn M. Demmer
Assistant Administrator
Dawn started working at EVDI in 1990. After graduating with a B.S. in accounting from Arizona State University, she went into public accounting before coming to work at EVDI, who happened to be one of her clients. She is also a Certified Public Accountant. 

Rebecca Bolin
Billing Manager
Becky started in the mailroom at EVDI in 1990. She is now responsible for clerical, data entry, refunds, payment inputting and coding. She received a coding certificate from Central Arizona College.

Wendi Childress
Manager, Finance and Accounting
Wendi started with EVDI in the Billing Department in 1991. After being with EVDI for 6 years, she relocated to Virginia and worked for a radiology group in Alexandria. After a short time, she returned to EVDI in Finance and Accounting and is now the manager of that department. Her areas of responsibility include payroll, accounts payable and other financial areas. 

Jennifer Douglass
Business Office Manager
Jennifer started at EVDI in 1999. She is responsible for EVDI’s billing customer service, insurance appeals, payments and collections. Her areas of responsibilities also include EVDI's billing functions, insurance authorizations and call patient scheduling.

Terri Durst
Compliance Manager
Before coming to EVDI in 1999, Terri worked with Jackson Radiology Consultants in Michigan. Her areas of responsibility are compliance, HIPAA and continuous quality assurance monitoring and auditing.  

Debbie Evans
Site Manager – Desert Breast Centers and Ironwood
Debbie was educated in the US Air Force, obtaining her certifications in radiology and mammography. She has worked as a tech in CT, ultrasound (both general and breast), interventional procedures, and even in the emergency room at Cedars Sinai, although her main focus as a tech has been in mammography and breast ultrasound. She manages all breast imaging for EVDI, as well as our Ironwood center. She began working at EVDI in 1998.

Laurie Kesting
Scheduling Manager
Laurie started working at EVDI in 1988 in the Billing Department. She transferred to the Scheduling Department in 1990 and is now responsible for that department. 

Norma Messina
Human Resources Personnel Manager
Norma joined EVDI in 1998 and manages all areas of human resources as they relate to benefits, employee relations, recruitment and training. Prior to joining EVDI, she worked as a Certified Paraeducator in both the Arizona and California education systems with a concentration in special education programs. She is also a trained mediator. She holds an associate degree from Cuesta College San Luis Obispo with an emphasis in education and is a Certified Professional in human resources, as well as a certified trainer in leadership and customer service training programs.

Ernest E. Rivenburgh
Corporate Medical Records Manager
Ernie served in the US Air Force as a law enforcement K-9 handler, handling both bomb, drug and patrol dogs. During his time in the Air Force, he served in Operation Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Kuwait. He graduated from the Law Enforcement Specialist Academy; the Patrol, Bomb and Drug K-9 Handler School; and the Air Force Non-Commissioned Officer Academy. In 1996, he began working in the file room at EVDI. Soon after, he started our Corporate Medical Records Department, where he is responsible for all medical records and distribution of exam results. 

Cathy Schultz
Physician Scheduler and Radiology Assistant Manager
Cathy came to EVDI in 1998. She is responsible for coordinating radiologist scheduling and also managing the radiology assistants and Radiologist Hotline. 

Jodi Shaffer
Marketing Manager
Jodi joined EVDI in 2000 and is responsible for EVDI’s marketing efforts as well as referring provider outreach and issue resolution and managed care contracting and relations. She also manages the couriers. She has both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in English from Utah State University with an emphasis in professional and technical writing.

Kimberly A. Singh
Site Manager, Chandler and Gilbert     
Kimberly received her radiology training at California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. After graduation, she worked as a technologist in multiple modalities, including general radiography, special procedures, CT, mammography and ultrasound. She began work at EVDI in 1990 as an ultrasound tech. She is registered as a radiological technologist and ultrasound technologist and received her bachelor of science degree in radiologic sciences. 

George Smit
Applications Manager
Prior to starting at EVDI in 1998, George worked for a radiology group in California. He has an associate degree in business and has been a radiology consultant for a number of groups over the years. He is a member of the Radiological Business Managers Association and the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine. His areas of responsibility include overseeing the radiology information and billing systems. 

Valerie Sowers
Site Manager, Tempe
Valerie started at EVDI in 1992 as an ultrasound and X-ray technologist. She is a registered radiological technologist and diagnostic medical sonographer, as well as a certified coder. She is responsible for managing our Tempe site, as well as overseeing staff scheduling, coding and pre-exam coordination.

Scott Whiteley
Director of Information Technology
Scott joined EVDI in 1999. Prior to that, he earned a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from the University of Georgia. He is responsible for EVDI’s IT-related infrastructure and supporting all technology usage.

Jim Winters
Operations Manager and Site Manager, East Mesa
Jim started his career in radiology as a technologist at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. His career has touched general radiology, neuroradiology, MRI and radiology management. He has also taught radiology in Jamaica, Guatemala and locally at Gateway Community College. Jim has a master’s degree in education and an MBA from Arizona State University as well as being certified as a radiology technologist in general radiology, MRI and cardiovascular imaging. He started at EVDI in 1998.
